How to Find Your Dream Career in Sales
My name is David Nassief and discovering how to find your dream career for me wasn’t easy. When I started my career I made many mistakes and learned a lot from those mistakes. Now I help people like you who think their dream career may be in sales. You get to benefit from the lessons I had to learn the hard way with this free site Phoenix-best-sales-jobs.com. My First Job was Anything but a DreamI certainly didn’t start out in any kind of dream sales job. Nor was I even close to finding the answer to how to find your dream career. I graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. On the surface that may sound like a pretty good start until you find out a little more about me. The thing is, I hate working with detailed tedious numbers. My first job was working at a CPA firm in Houston Texas as an auditor. What a mistake. Just about the entire job was working with detailed tedious numbers. After the initial excitement and newness of the job wore off – in about two days – I got this sick feeling in my stomach. I said, “You mean I just wasted four years of college studying something I hate?” From Auditing to OilI needed to make a change and in less than a year I was hired by an oil company as a staff accountant. Then I got promoted to be an accounting supervisor. Then I got promoted to be an accounting manager. Then I got promoted to be the cash and credit manager for the US operations of this international oil company. I was in my late 20’s at the time and people were saying I was on the fast track. I made a great income, had excellent benefits and some wonderful perks. There was only one small problem with this picture. I still hated accounting. I felt like I was going to prison every day in a pinstripe uniform. Still no answer to how to find your dream career for me. It Took CourageI then realized I would never discover the secret to how to find your dream career unless I had the courage to get out of accounting. I finally left accounting and worked at several different jobs in different industries. It was more interesting work than accounting but I can’t say any of them were my dream career. Then one day I took one of those personality career tests and it indicated I would do well in sales. That surprised me because once when I was in collage I tried a job selling books door to door. I failed miserably at that sales job so I figured a sales career was not for me. But what I found out was there are a lot of different types of sales. Many times a person can be unsuccessful in one kind of sales and very successful in another kind of sales. OK I Admit ItIn researching the different types of sales careers I noticed some
paid a lot more money
than others. That had a big influence on my selection because I must admit, I do like to make real good money. So I knew if I was going to find the answer to how to find your dream career, it had to pay good money. After my research I finally found an industry that sold big ticket items, had excellent quality products, and paid its salespeople very good incomes. The industry I discovered was the automobile industry. Being a car salesperson is not something I thought of myself as doing when I was in collage studying for my accounting degree. Snubbed My Nose at the Thought Frankly, I would have probably snubbed my nose at the thought of being a car salesperson in collage. Today I am so very grateful I was led to the auto industry through my tests and research. This career has changed my life in some wonderful and amazing ways. The following is a sketch of my sales career path in the automobile industry.- Salesperson
- Finance Manager
- Sales Manager
- Used Vehicle Buyer
- General Manager of Dealerships
- National Sales Trainer
- Director of Sales Training

David Nassief - Director of TrainingWhen it comes to how to find your dream career I can say with much excitement that I have found it. What is most interesting to me is in each step on my career path in the automotive industry, I have actually looked forward to going to work in the morning. There may be no career that is perfect or without obstacles. But for me, in the automobile industry, experiencing and overcoming obstacles has made me stronger and more successful. My how to find your dream career journeyI have enjoyed my journey from salesperson to director of sales training for one of the largest automobile groups in the nation. I now get to train both experienced and inexperienced salespeople to help them find the same kind of dream career in sales that I have. I also like the fact that I get to live in beautiful Phoenix Arizona doing this. Some of the reasons sales is my dream career are the following: - The pay – my first six figure income year was when I was a car salesperson
- The people – I am a people person not a numbers person and getting to deal with new people each day is fun for me
- The career advancement – the opportunities to advance in this industry may be one of the best kept secrets in the world of jobs & careers
- The chance to do what you love – Selling for me is fun, it’s like being paid very well to play every day
- The job stability – when you are successful in sales in an industry you can typically go anywhere and get a job in that industry. The following statement is so true – “Nothing happens until someone sells something.” In sales you make everybody else’s job possible.
