Two BIG Pay Advantages of Automotive Management Jobs
Why do automotive management jobs pay such high incomes? It’s for the same reasons automotive sales jobs are the
highest paying jobs in retail sales
according to the US Department of Labor - Bureau of Labor Statistics. Two Main Reasons for Higher Pay in Automotive Management Jobs I’ve had many years of sales and management experience both in the automotive industry and in non automotive industries. There are two main reasons why automobile management jobs pay significantly higher incomes compared to other sales managers in other industries. - Big Ticket Sales Items - New cars and trucks definitely have big ticket price tags. The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) says, “A new car is second only to a home as the most expensive purchase many consumers make. According to the National Automobile Dealers Association, the average price of a new car sold in the United States is $28,400.”
In general most automotive management jobs earn a certain percentage of the profit on the vehicles sold by their sales people. If a sales manager makes X% commission, than the bigger the dollar amount that percent is applied to, the bigger the pay check. In other industries sales managers also typically earn a percent of the profit but the numbers are smaller. Selling a $500 suit, a $800 stereo or a $1300 computer may sound like a lot of money until you compare it to a $30,000 car or truck. - Higher Volume Sales - It is true that people pay more for a house than for a car. But when you look at automotive management jobs they manage a higher volume of unit sales. It is common in cities the size of Phoenix for a single dealership to sell 500 vehicles a month or more. Yet a single successful real-estate office will only sell a fraction of that.
According to the Department of Transportation the average household of four has 2.4 vehicles. It is also true that many households don’t even own one house, they rent. Therefore you can see why automobile sales volume is much higher than residential real-estate sales volume. High volume is also what contributes to the higher pay in automotive management jobs. Some of My Former StudentsMany of the men and women I have trained in our
assistant sales manager training program
have gone on to do quite well. It is not uncommon to see my former students as retail automobile sales managers making six figure incomes living in upscale neighborhoods. What still amazes me is many of them making this kind of money are in their 20’s or early 30’s. If you would like to be part of this exciting profession: CLICK HERE to APPLY NOW
